Origin Story Desert Door Texas Sotol was born in the West Texas desert, where their founders first encountered the Sotol plant. Hundreds of years ago, this spiky desert succulent was used by Indigenous tribes for everything from tools and food to fermented drink. Wild Harvested “Sotol” is both the name of their spirit and the plant they make it from. They wild-harvest all their sotol on ranches across Texas; they don’t farm or cultivate any of their sotol stock. Wild-harvesting is a much more sustainable practice than monocropping and helps conserve valuable resources such as land and water. Tasting Notes While it’s not an agave spirit, our Desert Door Original is a lot like a premium tequila on the nose, with bright notes of vanilla and green grass. But here the similarities end. Tasting reveals flavors like toffee, mint, and orange zest. The finish is custard-smooth - smoother than tequila - with subtle hints of sage.

Founded by sisters, Jill Burns and Kelly Gasink, Austin Cocktails is a Texas-based, cocktail company inspired by a lifelong family tradition. The founders pay homage to their farmer grandfather, Fred, who gathered friends and family at 5 pm on summer nights after a long day working in the fields. These small gatherings became known as ‘Cocktail Time’ and were Fred's way of making time for joy and connection.
Distilled, aged, and bottled in Kentucky, Chicken Cock Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey has a rich, elegant mahogany hue; a nose which balances oak tones with sweet notes of dried fruit, caramel, and vanilla; and a palate that opens with soft tannins. A creamy, almost buttery mouthfeel is complemented by butterscotch notes and toasted oak, resolving with a vanilla finish. At 90 proof, there is a slight, welcome bourbon heat. The bourbon is bottled in a replica of the Prohibition-era Chicken Cock bottle.

Jackalope Brewing Company was founded by Bailey Spaulding (who is also our Chief Executive Officer) and Robyn Virball. Bailey and Robyn became friends in the tiny Scottish village of St. Andrews, where Bailey was doing a semester abroad and Robyn was completing her undergraduate degree. After college, Bailey went off to Vanderbilt Law School, and Robyn entered the working world, but both thought they were looking for much bigger and more intoxicating things. Bailey’s passion for homebrewing led to the Jackalope dream, and in 2009 the ladies dove into planning the brewery. In 2010, Jackalope was joined by Steve Wright. He started out as Jackalope’s biggest fan, parlayed that into being the first Jackalope intern, and is now a partner and Chief Operating Officer of Jackalope. Everyone agreed that the focus was to build a craft brewery that put out delicious, creative beers while being an active force in the community. Jackalope’s taproom doors opened on May 21st, 2011, and the Jackalope team has been working nonstop to embody those goals ever since.
